My Daughter went camping this weekend, which gave me the opportunity to babysit her Pajero.
It’s pretty tight for interior room, despite it’s exterior dimensions. The interior and the driving experience reminds me of a Forester of the same era. Clutch and transmission are smooth and forgiving. Body roll is as you’d expect. Driving dynamics are closer to a Forester than the Wrangler.
I told my daughter that, if you’re going to drive an ‘enthusiasts’ vehicle, you have a responsibility to keep it presentable. ( I know I’m projecting...I call it positive modeling, heh ). Her bar of “presentable” differs from mine, so I thought I’d surprise her with a head-start.
“GRIP THE GROUND”
It’s got a some patina, especially on the 20 year old Japanese plastic bits. I fixed up some of the problematic paint areas with ScratchX, which worked well on this silver to hide a bunch of fine scratches and rock dings.
Afterwords, I took the Roadster out for it’s season debut.
A very awesome, chill, Oppo kinda day.

Neat, although I’m not sure I like the belt and suspenders approach to the left side mirror.

10 years ago I had the chance to buy a 1600 rpadstar that was disassembled and taken down to bare metal for $350... I still kick myself every time I see one...

I bought mine in ~’06. At that time it was an easy decision. What a difference 14 years makes to it’s value.

It’s as useful as a third nipple.

Okay, British Columbia? How do you come to have a car with the steering wheel on the passenger side?

Canuckistan
You made me laugh with that one! Laughing feels good this morning.
But I think President Trump called for a travel ban from there.
Anyway, what does the import law allow or disallow?

if you’re going to drive an ‘enthusiasts’ vehicle, you have a responsibility to keep it presentable
But what if the previous owners have messed up the exterior horrifically
? (i.e. bad paint, cracked body panels, broken exterior mechanical bits)

lol...I’m glad!
Our 15 year Import Law
allows an exemption for vehicles built to foreign specifications so that vehicles from any foreign market can be imported and licenced after an inspection. The US has a 25 year law
so we get stuff 10 years newer into Canada.

Good question, I’ll have to consult the S13 forums :)

I spotted this in Italy a few years ago, somehow I was drawn to it. I am also drawn to pre-facelift froggy Multiplas, so there’s probably just something wrong with me:
And yes, keep your unusual oldtimers presentable:

One of these days we’ll have to have a big PNW meet. Looking more later than sooner, unfortunately.
